I don't know much about the various variety of peaches, but intended to go pick this weekend from the same place we went last summer. Their site is showing Sentry and Sweet Scarlet available for $13/peck, which to me seems like a screaming good deal (a peck is roughly 48lbs, based on my research).

Anyone have insight as to whether these are good peaches for wine?

Not sure about the peaches but my days of helping on the farm taught me a peck is about 25% of one bushel. And a typical bushel of peaches weighs 48-50#. I have been scoping peaches out lately too. Ask your peach grower if they have a refractometer to take a Brix reading, or just sample one...your taste buds will tell you for sure. Have fun!
