I love Rhône wines, reds, whites, rosés. So when FEK came out with Southern Rhône and Northern Rhône I had to try one. I made a Southern Rhône in 2022. I have sampled it several times since bottling. It's very fruity, spicy, jammy. It's a nice deep red, a bit lighter in taste than Frenc.h Rhônes (but I find that all kit wines are lighter than similar non-kit varietals). I then tried a Southern Rhône which I bottled in 2023, While it is very fruity, spicy it is MUCH lighter than the Wine I bottled in 2022. It is lighter in color as well as in taste. I made the FWK Northern Rhône, the jury's still out on that one. I've made several other Rhône blends from other producers, GSM. Papa Rhône, MSB, GTS. Of all of them I think GSM from Wine Expert is one of the best. I'm still debating FWK vs GSM. FWK does have a couple of advantages, skin packs and oak chips and cubes. Here's a pic of the 2022 and the 2023.
