Third time I have made skeeter pee, the first two I used sparklloid. This time I tried to use kieselsol/chitosan with poor results.
9/28 started, using standard recipe. 10/9 SG was 0.994, degassed, added K Meta/K Sorb and kieselsol/chitosan all within about three hours. 10/19 still cloudy, racked to a 6 gallon carboy then immediately back to the 5 gallon carboy. Used AIO wine pump to remove co2. At this point there is no clearing, I was going to repeat K/C but thought I better check with y'all, does K/C work for skeeter pee? Repeat it or just use sparklloid.
Family is coming to my house for Thanksgiving and wanted this to ready by then or I would just wait it out.

I have always only used K/C for clearing any wine, particularly Skeeter Pee. So yes it will work. I wonder if you still have lots of CO2 in your wine.

I forgot to ask. I don't see pectin enzyme in the original recipe and did not use any but was wondering if it would benefit from adding some.

It's been a long time since I made SP, but I thought I added it, that's memory and sometimes... You can always add some and see if it helps. Since it is post fermentation as a double or triple dose. The alcohol interferes with the pectin working.

I stirred it vigorously prior to adding the K/C, but thought the same thing. That’s why I racked with the vacuum pump. I added the pectinase this morning.
How long should I wait before considering re-adding the kieselol/chitosan?

I would probably wait at least a week. Let it work. You might start to see some stuff falling out, might not.

Usually, for me anyway, it takes at least two or three rankings and time for all the CO2 to get out. Heck, since it's just Skeeter Pee, you could serve it cloudy, it won't hurt anybody.

Would there be any harm using sparklloid next time, after using kieselsol/chitosan? Will give it a week then decide.

It's at about 72 degrees, will be easy to increase temp a little, might be more difficult to get to 85.

All fining agents have side effects, and for most wines I'd not use two. However, it's SP and if it's not clearing, Sparkalloid may do the trick.

K&C should work on any wine, so that's probably not it. Give the pectinase at least 4 days to work. How much did you add? Post-fermentation it's best to add a double-dose, as alcohol reduces its efficiency.
