Many times information gets buried on the internet because it's not "popular" and not clicked on to keep it at the top of Google's visited lists. This article is dated in 2016, but still applies today.

I continuously have conversations with other wine makers about how the definition of "yeast nutrients" are confusing. From the perspective of a new winemaker making their first batch of wine, yeast nutrients are all the same. That is not the case.

This third party article delves into what is considered the most important part of winemaking: getting yeast cells prepared to make wine.

Happy reading. :)

The article is useful. Thanks!

The links in it are broken, and commenting is turned off, probably because of the age. I found an email address on the home page, and emailed them about the broken links.

Side note -- I've noticed that most US states have some type of grape research facility, often at a college. NC State U (NCSU) has one:

https://grapes.ces.ncsu.edu/

Florida has one as well, which is focused on hot weather grapes.

Yes they do. I've looked at many of them. Their resources are generally centered around agriculture of grapes and not about enology.

True. However, I've found some information of use, and most of it did not require a biological thesaurus to understand. ;)

The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) is a good source. It's technical, but understandable, although I do keep a second window open to search on terms I don't know.

I stepped back through PennState wine URL and landed at home page with links to articles: https://extension.psu.edu/food-safe...ion/wine-production?education_format=Articles
