I put my Pinot Noir in a carboy in January after fermentation and glowed the instructions. othis was an eclipse kit. I added a quarter teaspoon of potassium metabisulfite because I was going to ball cage for six months. I plan on bottling in the next month or two should I add another quarter teaspoon of potassium metabisulfite now?

If you racked in January, I would rack again now (6 months later), and add another 1/4 tsp k-meta. I'm guessing you will leave a lot of sediment behind. I try to rack every 3 to 4 months, adding k-meta with each racking.

When I bottle, I rack and add another 1/4 tsp k-meta, and let it sit a day before bottling. The racking gets it off the sediment so it is not stirred up in the bottling process. Siting a day helps the k-meta disperse a little.

If it has been a month since your last racking/k-meta before bottling, I might skip adding k-meta. at 2 months or more, and I would add another 1/4 tsp. The racking/bottling process does expose it to air, and the k-meta provides some protection.
