I've heard great reviews on the Super Tuscan kit and am wondering what this wine can be compared to. How bold does it finish as compared to say a Cab, Merlot, Pino Noir, etc? I know this question is vague, but any help is appreciated.

Since Super Tuscan is not recognized within the Italian wine classification system, and do not have to adhere to the extremely restrictive DOC rules or laws, a Super Tuscan can be made up of a few different blends, The most popular being based either on a Sangiovese Blend (sangiovese is approx. 70-80 of Chianti Classico), or a Bordeaux-blend (grapes typical for Bordeaux such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and so on).

So the easy answer to your question would be a a nice burgundy style or even a milder Chianti Style, sounds great to be honest.
Here is a list of Super Tuscan Wines too give you an example of the blends being made:

Most of the Super Tuscan kit wines are Cab/Merlot/Sangi in some ratio. Just an awesome wine that goes great with Italian as well as steaks etc.

Racked mine from cold stabilization this evening. tasted it and at 9 months is darn good. I agree with the comparison to a light bodied Chianti. I'm very pleased thus far.

It's a great blend of Italian and Bordeaux. Great food wine! I, personally, like the S.T.'s that have the greatest percentage of Sangiovese in the blend.
