As the subject titles says, "The Winemakers" reality tv series if to air begining the month of September 2009 on your local PBS station.

If you have never seen anything about this before. It was originally suppose to air in November of 2007, but because of other issues it was postponed till now.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any info for my local PBS station as to when or if it will be airing. This is for the Twin Cities Metro area in Minnesota. I hope it hasn't been postponed again.

I just hope all of you have better luck then me in finding when the show will air in your local area.

I too can't find it listed with my public station, Prairie Public. You'd think a station that provides service to several states and 2 provinces that we'd get the good stuff. Oh, wait. The good stuff requires money.

I can't find it here either. I guess it is only "Public TV" if it is in California where the show was shot. We have 2 PBS stations here which serve most of the Northeast, including Montreal with it's millions.

Not on our PBS station from the Pacific Northwest in Seattle. We are only a few hours from Cali, so I'm baffled as to why we wont get it :(

Maybe it really doesn't exist! It could be that they're just yanking our tail, pulling our legs, stomping our grapes!

Well, maybe when they say Sept 2009 - they mean the last few days of Sept 2009 - something between the 27th - 30th.

Does anyone else have a problem with You Tube? I can't watch anything on You Tube as it keep loading about every 3 seconds. I takes 15 minutes to watch a 3 minute program.

I dont have a problem, it could be that you have a very slow speed internet due to being to far away from the place its coming from, thats 1 problem with DSL.

That looks like an awesome show! Unfortunately, the Kansas City PBS station doesn't even have the show title in the show search pulldown menu.

Good News (at least for the Minnesota Metro area). I contacted the PR person for "The Winemakers" Series and I just got a response back stating,

"Thank you for your inquiry about "The Winemakers."

Yes, each individual station is in control of when/if they choose to schedule an independent series such as "The Winemakers."
FYI - It will be available to all stations within the public broadcasting system as of September 26th.

The producers do not have a list of station premier dates/times as yet, so if you have been in touch with your local station they should get back to you with air dates/times. However, the chances of The Winemakers airing on TPT are good as indicated by their early interest.

Otherwise, I'd suggest contacting the Programming Director and requesting they run the series.

For The Winemakers: Season One"

So probably in October it will air - yeah

yep, I finally got to see the first episode. Not bad, but certainly not what I was expecting. These are regular everyday people who want to learn to make wine, and not people with experience. I think if they chose one of us for the show, we'd be far better off than these people.

It's a very good lesson on making wine on a much larger scale! They had to clear the pommace from 12,000 gallon tanks and then press it, and then choose when to stop pressing. That's not something we will encounter very much on that scale!
