Something is causing the leaves on my muscadines to kinda curl up. Can't see anything on them, but on some of the other vines there are ant looking somethings. They are about the size of a ant, but they have white rear-ends. Do you think the two are problems are related, I don't see the ant looking things on the vines that have the curled up leaves and I can't see any harm caused by the ants, they are just busy running all over the vines, especially on the new growth. Thanks for any help on each problem

Look for aphids on the ones with ants. The ants farm the aphids and collect the honeydew from them.
Curling dould be cause by many things so no way to really tell without examining them more.

Yes get rid of the ants and you'll get rid of aphids and your leaves won't curl up like that.

Start a fungus and insecticide program. Spray every 3 weeks. I lost a lot last year to both and birds. Sprayed a week ago and will continue up to 2-3 weeks from harvest.

Ants herd aphids. Aphids feed on young leaves. Secrete a sweet substance the ants love. Ants even bite off the wings of the aphids so they can't fly away.

If you have a small amount you can lightly warm soapy water and hand wash the infected areas. Rinse then begin spraying.

I'm going to mix up some jelly 10 parts to 1/2 part of borax. It is suppose to kill the ant colony. It is poison so keep pets away. Place in bottle cap for ants to get to.

These sound like potato aphids to me. I had them in my veggie garden last year and they really chewed up a few of my younger plants. The aphids can fly or jump from plant to plant and will spread if left untreated. The way I got rid of them was mix 2 tablespoons of the original Dawn Dish detergent (it's blue, not the anti-bacterial kind) with 1 quart of water and put it into a squirt bottle. I sprayed leaves and stem of the plant to wash them off. Make sure to get the underside of the leaves, too because these critters like to hide. It's time consuming but it does work. This mixture will kill white flies, mites, aphids, thrips,or any type of insect that has a soft abdomen because it gets absorbed into their body but it's gentle enough that it won't harm your plant or you if it gets onto your veggies/fruit as it's just soap. (If it does get on your fruit just give it a good rinse.)
As for ants, I haven't had a problem with them in my garden but I did hear that Borax does the trick. Good luck!
