We all want to know what to do with all of George's peanuts, right? I found the answer! Just leave them in the shipping box in your garage and they make the perfect landing pad for a newly fledged Eastern Kingbird!
LOL Or maybe Kingbird stew for continuing to decorate my car!!! This is the second hatch this year. I have to cover my car with sheets every time I come home! I sure hope momma and papa are done for the year!
I picture this bird on its maiden flight, trying desperately to understand fluid dynamics, lift, inertia, and other aspects of physics, while out of it's tiny eyes it spies this large landing crash pad full of packing peanuts - it couldn't have landed anywhere safer. Kind of makes me think of the Albatross from The Rescuers.
Actually he heard his Mom say "flap your wings and fly". Poor little darling is hard of hearing and thought Momma said "Flop your wings and Dive", and so he did!
And Joan- keep that poor bird off the grill. It wouldn't even make decent "Wings"
