Home Depot sells 5 gallon Culligan water bottles for $14 each. 3 yesterday, another 3 soon, plus the 4 six gallon carboys I already have, should do it

I've thought about this but was discouraged from going this route - was told I couldn't get a decent seal.

I've since shifted to glass carboys. But, still wonder.

Those are not O2 proof, that is they are O2 permeable. Wine will oxidize over time.

The 4 gal PET water bottles at Sam's and WalMart are the same material as a Better Bottle. I even bulk age in them. Cost is under $4 and that includes the water.
