Using PBW to clean oak barrel

I have a small 3liter barrel that I was storing wet and forget about resulting in some mold build up in the barrel. I'm trying to salvage it and was reading that a sodium carbonate wash followed by citric acid wash should work. I don't have soda ash but have PBW. Will that work instead?

I’m not sure I’d use that stuff on something porous. How about boiling water or steam?

Actually if you open it pressure washing would work very well. But you probably need to thermally sterilize it if you don’t chemically.
