On day 14 it taste a little dry, and SG 0.999 is that OK, and it is fairly clear,as clear as merlot gets,Is it OK?

I made a mistake SG was 0.990

Yes, all of that sounds just fine. At this point, you should have your wine in a carboy, preferably topped up so that there is not much headspace. Then you get to let it sit for a while to mellow out and clear completely.
