Planing on a small batch of Malbec from fresh grapes (Chile) and need to place my order asap.
I was wondering if anyone has blended with say Carmenere?

Small batch, maybe 5 lugs.

Or maybe just leave it all Malbec....

I'd leave it all Malbec. My 2013 has some Carmenere in it, but only because I was making both and had extra Carm when I needed to top up the Malbec.

yeah, thanks Jim.
I think that is the direction I was headed anyway.
Really wish I also made a small batch of Merlot......or maybe I just do the Merlot....:slp

I think I will make a quick decision when I call them within the next hour....lol :D

BTW - how's the Merlot from Chile, never tried it.

Perhaps you know this already, but, for many years at least, the Merlot from Chile was the Carmenere! That is, for many years, people thought the grapes being grown in Chile were Merlot, whereas they actually turned out to be Carmenere.

I do not know the answer to your question about present-day Chilean Merlot.

I did a 50/50 cab/merlot last year - it is progressing very nicely. I read earlier that @JohnT is doing a cab/merlot this year.
