We celebrated my son's girlfriend's birthday today. He wanted to make lobster ravioli for her, so we did that.

It's lobster ravioli with limoncello cream sauce. The ravioli are baked, not boiled or fried. We did surf-n-turf (NY strip) and baked squash.

My son dipped his steak in some of the cream sauce, and moaned. Yes, the sauce made the steak even better!

Yesterday Mrs. WM81 made peanut butter ice cream ... that finished the night.

A quick but very tasty Valentines dinner at home last night serving Diablo (Creamy Cilantro and Jalapeño) Shrimp and Scallops over rice. If you think eggs are expensive, 12oz of frozen wild scallops will set you back $25 plus TT&L. The jumbo shrimp are the deal these days as they can be had for only $7/lb in comparison. The scallops were good considering they are not an indigenous species to NM.

Are shrimp indigenous to NM? Yes shrimp is cheap. My HEB Central Market had super jumbo, non frozen, wild gulf shrimp, 5 to 7/lb for $5.99/lb. Bought 5 lbs. BUT... even cooked well, were tougher than the smaller varieties. The shrimp mongers said this is normal.
