Black Iris Regent 2023

pitted wild cherries, wild blackberries, dried elderberries, hand destemmed uncrushed homegrown Regent grapes on RC212 with nutrient left in a corked bottle 1/2 full on my fridge for a week.

Here are my tasting comments:

Appearance - inky purple

Smell - very pleasant intense Marzipan aroma (tannin aldehyde?)

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - unique and interesting of a type I've never except perhaps in red vermouth or dubonnet. Was really good as a cooking wine in a pot roast.

Chardonnay Muscat 2023

This is a 50/50 cooler carboy blend with Sheridan Chardonnay fermented with V13 yeast and my homegrown Siegerrebe-Ortega Muscat blend fermented with 71B yeast. My son in law loves my muscats and I gave him a case of mine which he used to make this blend.

Here are my comments:

Appearance - clear lemony yellow

Smell - good nose - buttered popcorn and muscat

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - this is very good, not excellent but certainly very good. This is a one of a kind Washington Chardonnay, homegrown Siegerrebe Ortega blend with a nice finish. I have 13 to age in my cooler.

Flavour - this is slightly flat for me but very fragrant and tasty. My wife really likes it so its hers. She scores it a 9/10.

Fresco Chilean Viognier 2024

We bought Fresco fresh juice in pails to improve Washington Sheridan Chardonnay. This tasting is from the Viognier on its own:

Appearance - clear pale lemon yellow

Smell - fragrant, lemon zest, key lime, bananas, honeydew melon, quince, lime zest

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - very good dry table wine the way I like it with a good finish. I'd make it again. It improved the Chardonnay.

White Fusion 2024

This is a blend in a glass of 50% Chilean Viognier from Fresco juice, 25% homegrown Russets + Macintosh apple juice chaptalized with cane sugar, 25% Homegrown white wine grapes including Siegerrebe, Ortega, Reichensteiner, Madeleine Angevine with homegrown Cox apple juice chaptalized with unpasteurized blueberry blossom honey and fermented with D47 yeast.

Tasting notes:

Appearance - clear lemon yellow

Smell - very fragrant, complex nose

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - this is better than the sum of its parts and should make a really good, balanced and tasty house white wine for everyday drinking. I'd rate it as very good. It has no apparent flaws. I'll mix up 30 bottles of this in a carboy, put it back in my cooler and bottle it around Easter 2025.

retaste from a split in my cooler:

Appearance - slightly hazy, slightly fizzy lemon yellow poured from a split

Smell - a bit yeasty but good intense complex nose

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - this is tasty. I'd make it again in a heartbeat.

Last year's blueberry wine, bottled before its time. I had an itch to do something in the winery . It’s ok good aroma, just enough tannin, AI generated label.View attachment 120026light flavor, just a little acid on the backend. About 30 lbs of ripe berries.
please tell us exactly how you created the label

please tell us exactly how you created the label
I used Microsoft’s AI , I told it to make a wine bottle label 3.3”x4” for blueberry wine vintage 2024 with my name on it also. It’s very simple, the more info you input the more control you get over the final image. It’s very easy, I use it for greeting cards, furniture design and even my dreams. I just made this label, it misspelled my name so I told it to redo the label with correct spelling. I could have asked for a howling wolf in the background or a whale surfing in the vineyard.
Here’s what I input
Create a wine bottle label featuring the grape varietal Marquette vintage 2024, winery name Owen Vineyard
To access the AI click on the blue icon in the upper right corner of the MS Edge page, have fun,, oh and then I copy it into photoshop and finish it there

I've been saving this bottle for awhile. The 1792 straight bourbon beat the pants off $600 bottles in judging in 2024. A bottle in 2024 was $50. Mmmm. Very smooth.

This is my wife Carol's house wine i.e. everyday red (I make it for her palate which is different than mine):

2020 - Washington Dineen Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Sheridan Syrah

2021 - Dineen Cabernet Franc, Amador Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi Mettler Vineyard Petite Sirah

2022 - Marechal Foch, Regent (both homegrown)

My comments:

Appearance - purple

Smell - good, very complex, fruity, smokey, lingering

Tannin - good

Acid - good

Flavour - this is rich and tasty with a long slightly tannic finish. I rate it as very good.

It's the "Full Proof" not the "Small Batch" that had everybody going crazy for this stuff. I have a bottle of both. The Full Proof is hands down the better sipping bourbon!
