We've had similar comments. Some people think our concord is less sweet than some of the fruit wines, but the SG is just about the same. When your tongue is perceiving tannins, this can make you think the wine is more dry. It's an interesting subject because all of this is so subjective to each person. This is why we focus on "balance" instead. Light flavored wines can't handle much sugar,as an example, because it tamps the flavor down if too much is used. So sweetness levels also depend on the grape or fruit being used for the wine.
