I looking for a pump to transfer wine from my 150 & 250 LT Stainless Steel VC tanks and for racking from these tanks. Currently I'm using my Buon Vino Super Jet but its slow about 1 gallon per minute. I was looking at these Chigger pumps that runs 7 Gallons per minute. Anyone use them, and thoughts on them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCKU3ZC/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Glad to see this post as we are also looking for a pump with higher GPM.

Have you seen these? http://ebay.to/2wZdXrm

Actually, I guess Morewine has something similar.

I wonder if anyone here has experience with the Chugger pump.

The other thing about the Chugger that is a little concerning is that it's only 1/20 HP. I wonder if it can move much wine up a few feet. Do they have any other heavier-duty pumps?

You can find a good selection of pumps for a bit more from MoreWine Pro https://morewinepro.com/search?search=pump Not endorsing them but they have been around for years and offer a good value to both home winemakers and pros alike. Another one I use is Gino Pinto. They have the same pump as Ebay but it is cheaper at least my wholesale price is.

I found another candidate that looks great. Blichmann Riptide. Check it out.

The Centrifugal type pumps (Chugger, Blichmann Riptide) have the highest flows at the lowest cost, but the down side is they are rough on wine due to the high speed high shear impeller. That being said, they are used in some large wineries. If you can afford the higher price, the flexible impeller style is very low shear, more gentle type of pump.

Thanks....do you have a model you'd recommend?
