Welcome to the wonderful hobby of wine making. There may be a club of wine makers near you. I suggest you find out. Also find out where your local homebrew store is. They will be a life saver.

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

    Early (but good) Drinking Kits

I think when you're asking how did they compare you're asking about Flavor more than ABV? At least that's my take away from your comment. You should probably read the thread about tweaking cheap kits that Joe's Wine has been administering for years. It will change how you make kit wines. The...

@ joeswine also ordered a cheap chardonnay kit 11.5% from wine lovers. My sister likes buttery chardonnay. Any tips or ideas for me...I am aware of battonage and adding a MLB after primary fermentation. I thought a cheap kit would be a great way to attempt to make that buttery flavor...

    A Couple Beginner Questions

Do you see an improvement in wine when using purified water? Most reverse osmosis water is very low and mineral content also. But I keep thinking about looking up a water profile 4 Columbia Valley and recreating that water profile before I make my next Pinot Noir

Doodah, in general adding sugar will dry out a wine. The yeast will consume the sugar. Most wine kits do not require additional sugar. There are so many good ideas on improving cheap kits on this thread. It's a wealth of education. I'd suggest reading the entire thread.

Has anyone produced a document summarizing the knowledge shared and gained on this thread? It is so long now it is kinda laborious to read all 91 pages... @joeswine

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

Where are you guys finding these cheap kits. I have been on amazon and only found a handful of fontana and wild grape kits. I did make a couple of the vintners reserve weekday wine kits and I reduced them to 5.5 gallons. they came out great for a basic sitting on the deck wine. But I am...
