    Mix-Stir, Fizz-X, or Wine Whip?

I have a Mix Stir and a Fizz X. Both are fine devices. I use the Fizz X more for degassing as I like the nylon insert that goes in the opening of the carboy that keeps the shaft from banging the glass. When I mix a kit or used to oxygenate wort after a boil I used the Mix Stir. Either one is...

    Screw Cap Wine Bottles

Forgot to add though, I doubt they will ever take over the industry. Too many snobs to ever allow that to happen.

    Screw Cap Wine Bottles

Guess I am one of the few here that like screw caps. I used to feel the same but now days, I really prefer the screw caps. It tells me one thing. That the winery cares about the quality of their product and for me, that's all that matters. Experience a corked wine once. It will almost turn you...

    HAVE YOU HEARD ??

You had me going there for a bit. I figured they were gonna make a Two Buck Chuck competitor.

    Do you still buy wine....

We buy more than we used to. Some varietals such as Pinot Noir kit wise just don't meet my expectations so I buy them commercial. I have been drinking a lot of Pinot Noir. My wife drinks a lot of Pinot Grigio and although the kits I have made she drinks and likes she prefers Santa Margarita...

    Taking the leap.

5 gallon corny's are cheap. You ought to be able to buy them around $25.00. Shipping can be steep though. 2.5 gallon corny's are expensive as they are hard to find. Last one I bought I paid $59.00 on eBay for it and stole that thing. I have seen them sell for $125.00 and higher. Most you see in...

    Boudain

Dean, I don't see any liver in that recipe. This is a recipe I have made before (in the above pics) that was very good and close to most of the good commercial boudin you can buy anywhere around where I live. Boudin recipes can be hard to get. People keep them secret as good Boudin is bragging...

    single blast bottle washer

That's the exact same spigot I wore out using my bottle blaster on. I had that same sink in the utility room of my last house.

    Splitting a 16L Kit in 2

You should have no problem with it two weeks in the fridge if topped up and airtight. I do this often when I juice fruits. Also as said above, don't try to split up the chemical packets or yeast packet.

    single blast bottle washer

Yes, if your spigot has external threads, it will screw right on. It is the same thread as hose pipe. Most spigots had internal threads so you will probably need an adapter. I also agree with what Brewgrrrl said. I don't use mine anymore inside. I only use mine on carboys hooked up to the...

    Splitting a 16L Kit in 2

Yes you can do this if you have bulk stock chemicals to do the batch. What I would do is mix the entire 6 gallon batch up and then split it so you have an even mixture. Refrigerate the saved liquid till you want to ferment would be best. You could split it into 6 one gallon batches or any...

    Beer for the wife

Unless this bottle is vastly different than any other twist off cap bottle, don't try to cap them. Screw top bottle don't have the lip on them for the cap to seal to. You can get the cap to stick but it is catching the threads. You risk breaking bottles during capping as well as leakers that...

Bacon Wrapped Fig & Blue Cheese Stuffed Pork Tende

Looks super! Your Whole Paycheck must not get stuff where mine does. They had some great looking figs when I was in there Friday. Or maybe I was in Fresh Market? I think it might of been there. I went to both this weekend.

    Help, please....Pomegranate Wine

Oh, forgot to add, his recipe used straight Pom juice and he added the Pom/Berry to it. You can make the wine straight up with the juice you have.

    Help, please....Pomegranate Wine

I was going to tell you to ask Bill B about this but I looked at the link you gave and it WAS Bill B's recipe. Anyway, do the math and break it down. Basically you just need to determine how much Pectic Enzyme and Yeast nutrient. Different brands are different doses and many are listed in one...

    Beer for the wife

You are probably going to have to make up your own kit for that one. Also, do you have a fridge with temp control to lager in? I kick myself in the butt for loosing the recipe for the best beer I ever brewed which happened to be a Honey Brown Lager which I have yet been able to duplicate in...

    WineXpert Stalled Clearing ??

This is actually one of the few Vintner's Reserve kits I liked and would make again. It was a very good wine. So anyway, you added the clearing chemicals. Did you add the K-Meta and Sorbate first? What is the temp of the wine? If it's too cold it will take forever to clear. Warm it up to around...
