The other day bottled six gallons of Syrah and racked the Skeeter Pee. Spent all day yesterday cleaning and de labeling bottles.

That sounds like a great trick, can't wait to try it. I have two bottles with the corks pushed in. One is just a standard bottle but one is a nice shaped gallon that I really like.

Today all I did was some cleaning and de-labeling of bottles that I didn't get to complete yesterday. But yesterday - racked 18 gallons of the wedding wine (Pinot Noir), racked 18 gallons of the Nero Davola/Dolcetta blend and racked 6 and a half gallons of Skeeter Pee. :D

I've made both the Mezza Luna Red and the Coastal Red. No tweaks on either as I like to make it straight the first time to have a base line to judge by. I thought the ML was a little thin and preferred the Coastal. Made both as early drinkers and I'm sure both would have benefited from more time...

Anyone out there use tasting corks and can bottles be stored on their sides using them?? :re

Ok a few weeks back I posted that I picked up three buckets of NeroDavola that I was going to batch together. After pouring every thing into the fermenter, checking SG, pitching yeast etc. I began to clean up and took the empty buckets out side to hose them off when I realized one of the buckets...

Kind of what I was thinking. I also have a lot of gallon jugs and an assortment of other screw tops with the original tops though I haven't used them. What would you consider long and short term . I guess all of my wine would be considered short term at this point that's part of my problem...

I'm curious has anyone reused the screw tops with the original top? Can you get a good reseal?? :d

+1 On all the WE kits I've done they have you redistribute the sediment but it seem to work, clears pretty well shortly afterward. Of course YMMV. :i
