Well, crush is over.and done with and I'm about to do my first racking.

This year we made ...

80/20 cabernet
Old vine zinfandel
Pilot noir
Cab franc.

Went so well! We split the work force in half, one half soting the new grapes and one half bottling 50 cases of the 2022.

We all went out to dinner to a really nice steak house afterwards.

A week after crush, I took the mrs on a cruise through southern France. Apparently, the French make good wine too....
 
Are you making wine back up in the NE where you used to live before retiring to the deep south? Or have you moved all the stuff down south to GA?
 
One thing I did learn in France is they put WAY more importance on where the grapes are grown rather than how the wine is made.

A US winery will tell you the variety of grape, and in what and how long it was aged.

A French winery will tell you the variety of grape and the type of soil it was grown in and location.

It appeared.to me that they didn't put too much stock in the winemaking process.
