4 liter /quart milk jugs as carboys ?

I read somewhere that these plastic jugs or pop bottles are not stong enough to use as carboys.. My first batch is about 7 liters and the carboy I bought is way to big ,even though I bought the 12 liter one .Next time I'll make a bigger patch ,but this is my first. I dont want to water it down with about 5 liters of water to fill the carboy and it seems logical that if the only pressure on the plastic bottles is from a slight bit of co2 pushing its way out of a ballon with a hole in it ,I should be ok.. Any comments?

gt yourself 2 1gallon glass jugs, dont use plastic milk jugs as even though they are food grade they arent designed for wine which is much more acidic and will leach chemicalsor just the taste of the plastic into your wine.

Same here. I've heard they don't clean well and the milk bacteria will ruin the wine.

Go buy a E&G gal of wine. Get drunk, save glass
U will have a cheap drunk and a 1 gal carboy!

I do what Tom said. Get Paesano, it ain't bad for 12 bucks a gal. More snow.
