AS I type this I am sitting here with a glass of what I think is the finest wine I have ever had the joy of consuming , Thanks to the help of all of you here at FVW forums.
I've learned alot along the way, I have learned never to add capmden to a highly co2'd carboy, not to degas a gallon of wine still in a gallon jug
Just how important it is to have 2 hydrometers and finally, I have learned wine can REALLY taste GREAT !
Me being a clean freak, I wasn't worried about having clean carboys and tools, but I am also a freak about trying new things, being that of someone elses cooking, different foods or that of drinking a grape that sat in room temperature for a month,
But let me tell you, just following all the proper directions, taking care in making sure everything is clean and having a bit of patience, and with that first sip, I mean first glass, well heck i ment the first bottle, Ok, OK the first gallon of home brew wine consumed with relaxation, I am 100 % confident that from this point on I have enough knowledge now to be dnagerous
And Wade,
Man, two things : 1) You got to convince your wife to get out and enjoy the outdoors a bit more in life, man everytime I posted a question you had it answered in minutes,
And I hope George is giving you a deal for being such support,
It is now time for me to retire from my classes and start making some more mistakes.......
I leave with you all one heck of a receipe, well, it was a great hit with those I know
3 gallons worth of welchers concord ( following directions on can )
1.5 Gallons Cherry juice from juicy juice
1.5 gallons pomeragrante juicy juice type
Yeast nutirent ( as directed )
1 package of 71B 1122 Yeast Lalvin
S.G 1.095
After completion sweeten to 1.015
Slow ferment like your making a blush and enjoy !
I am off to my newest toy ( my Korg Radias and multitrack recorder )
So I am sure that will remove me from the human race for well, heck until I get the money for my Access Virus
Thanks again everyone.
I am glad I took the time to learn something that has meaning and conversation to boot.
