I have the Cru Select Brunello fermenting at a steady pace, I smell just a slight hint of sulfur, my question is:
Can I add a teaspoon of Fermaid K to nip it in the bud, I've used Fermaid K split into 3 "applications" on every batch of wine and mead that I've made thus far, I just don't want to do something that is taboo with a kit.
I don't really see how there could be any negative impact.

I look forward to your replies!

Thanks,
Tom

Kits have all the yeast nutrients they need added up front. They are even listed on the box as Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) etc. The problem with adding more is that if it doesn't get used up by the yeast left over in-organic nitrogen (DAP) is the ideal food for Brett. Left over organic nitrogen is the ideal food for pediococcus, lactobacilius, etc.

If you smell sulfur I would not add any more yeast nutrient. I would however give the wine a good stir several times a day in order to help get any H2S out of the wine now.

Kit yeast, I didn't want to mix things up too much.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate the info.
