Heading out to Vegas to get away from the 30 below heat wave we are in, staying at the Signature at MGM. My wife turns 30 and told her we would go out on the town for one night of high-end life. Any advice as to what would be a good place to get some good food? I don't think her or I are really into trying food we can't pronounce or anything raw. Thinking more of a high-end aged steak place or something of the sorts. I have never been there and do not know too much about it.

Thanks!

I have been there once and didn't care much for it. Sensory overload.

There will probably be a high-end steak house in your hotel. One I can recommend is at the Palazzo hotel, Morels French Steakhouse and Bistro. My wife and I were out there for a convention and someone took us there, very nice. Great wine list. There are several out there, certainly the concierge at your hotel will have some ideas as well.

If you do go to the Palazzo, one really romantic thing you can do is take an outside gondola ride. It is at the Venetian, which is right next door.

If you want to go really high end you can find aged colby beef at the cut
about 120 per person

are more inexpensive Tom Colicchios Craftsteak, about 75 per person.
are more inexpensive Circus Circus steak house about 40 per person.

I like the craftsteak house, its rustic, excellent steaks, good wine list, great service, and they cook a steak like Peter Lugers in brookly ny.

Colicchios has a steakhouse right at the MGM which is connected to the Signature. That's what I was looking at just because it would be close by. We watch Ramsay's shows quite a bit, I may need to look into that and see why people are getting their $%^ chewed so often.

Most definitely Tom Colicchios Craftsteak @ MGM. Kobe beef is a total rip-off in my book.

Remember, if you want to leave Vegas with a small fortune... bring a large one :)

Last time we were there, we had a pretty good dinner at Emeril's place in the Venetian, and a really nice dinner at Prime in the Bellagio. I've heard great things about Colicchio's place, but haven't been there. We had a fantastic lunch at Bobby Flay's restaurant in Caesar's.

If you're looking to see a show, "Love" is great, as is "O". Both are Cirque du Soleil. And we saw David Copperfield at MGM, which was pretty entertaining.

I only leave my hotel if i have too...I usually reside at the blackjack table...Which reminds me, If new orleans gets to go to the super bowl, im going to vegas and make my wager, watch the game there and have some fun.

Oh and I think Gordon Ramsay only chews ppl out on his show, it's for the publicity of it all :) that's why it's called "Hell's" Kitchen

ckvchestnut,
Yes we can delete our own posts, go to edit at the bottom right hand side of your post and you should see "edit" click that and you can then select the delete option.

Only been to Vegas twice. But not trip is complete unless I have the bread pudding in the Irish Pub in New York New York. Also a less expensive meal is the Rio buffet ( we got 2 for 1) tickets at the Coke bottle on the strip.

Thanks! I find there aren't all the options on the mobile app! I had to go on my laptop!

We went to Vegas for our honeymoon - totally not what I wanted. I thought backpacking up Machu Picchu would be more fun :) Ah well, it was still a good time!

I recommend the helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon, seeing 'O', and the prime rib at Lowry's Steak House. (as in, the people who make the seasoning salt). It's not uber-fancy, but OMG the prime rib is amazing!

This is a picture of us outside the Bellagio before 'O', after Lowry's!
You're going to have a great time, I'd bet on it ;)

Thanks for the replies everyone! We had a great time out there. Luckily we were upgraded to a Signature Balcony Suite up on the 37th floor and the room with the views was amazing. If anyone heads out there, The Signature at MGM was an awesome hotel. Everyone had a smile on their face the entire time and went out of their way to help you. We ended up trying Collichio's CraftSteak and the food was excellent. I now know that I make my risotto way past the texture you are supposed to make it and the aged steak was beyond compare. I'll be heading back out there in March for ConExpo and know exactly where I want to go now. Thanks!
