Airlock campden question

Quick question about airlocks and the solution that is used in them. I know some use Vodka, but what campden solution ratio is recommended when going with campden in the airlock?
 
You don't need a lot. A few granuals. I use the mix from my spray bottle. Water and pot. sulfite (maybe a teaspoon). You will catch the smell but don't inhale.

Change or refresh in. 6 months or as needed.
 
I like to make a KILLER concentration. I mix 1/2 teaspoon with a pint of water.

Same here. I put two or three campden tablets in a 1/2 gal. jug of water and use that as my sanitizing solution/airlock liquid.
 
Straight water here. See no reason for anything else.
 
I haven't had issue so far in my primary with just water, but I wanted to know what people used for long term sits. Thanks for all the response. I think I will use the 1/2 gallon with 2 tablet ration to use in the airlock when I rack to secondary.
 
I use star san in my airlock and just swap out the airlock with a fresh one when the star san goes bad or it gets low. That was for brewing beer which doesnt spend as much time in a carboy but im going to stick with it for wine. I have extra airlocks and i always keep a fresh batch of star san when im brewing so its no big deal to swap one and for a clean one every couple weeks.
 
I actually use bourbon. I like the color.

No offense, but that is a waste of even the cheapest of Bourbons!
Bourbon is meant to be drank, leave the airlock to the more pedestrian of liquors, Vodka!
 
I went ahead an mixed 3 tabs of campden in a gallon jug of distilled water to use just for airlock security :D

Well Elmer, I have no vodka in the house, so bourbon it is. Nothing tastes quite like drinking the bourbon after the ferment!
