Is there a formula, etc. as to how much concentrate(I am talking about cranberry, apple, etc. from the frozen food section of grocery store) is equal to sugar? I have been backsweetening with sugar(dumping in carboy and stirring very well to dissolve it) but would like to backsweeten with some concentrate to give it more fruit flavor along with the sweetness.
I was thinking about 1 12oz. can of pineapple juice concentrate to a 1 gal. carboy of my tropical blend DB.

I use a hydrometer when I use a juice concentrate to back sweeten.

Look at the grams of sugar per serving on the concentrate. I am guessing it will be about 25-35 grams per serving with 8 servings in a 11.5-12oz can of concentrate. One cup of cane sugar has about 190 grams in an 8oz cup. You can then work out the math on the concentrate vs plain sugar. Or just start with one gallon of wine in a small bucket and slowly add in thawed out concentrate and let your taste buds tell you when to stop adding juice.

This is the fun part. Like Hobby says, dump some in taste it, dump some in taste. When it gets close to where you want it, let it sit til tomorrow and taste again. Now you can add a bit more if you think it needs it. What a great way to finish up a batchof wine. lol, Arne.

Thanks for the help, that is just what I was looking for.

I reduce the frozen concentrate down by 50 % to make my own f pack to use for back flavoring works great
