So I got my replacement corker just 1 day later and checked it out for proper operation. All is well. Yesterday I corked 30 bottles and every cork looked perfect. The Portuguese Floor Corker is easy to use and I now recommend it too. Mine is also made by Ferrari, so now I can say I own a brand new red Ferrari! Thanks for all the good advice.
