New batch of frozen grapes arrived from Midwest yesterday, I guess it's cold up there, because everything was still frozen, that's the good news, the bad news was everything was frozen, as in the clearing goo in both the "add packs" and the liquid MLB packs, I don't mean cold I mean frozen. Called Midwest and asked if that would hurt the MLB packs, even though in bold print on the front it says "Do not freeze", and was told "don't worry about it", this is not a lot of money one way or the other but what are the thoughts of the peanut gallery, use it or pitch it. bk

As long as you brought the subject, how do you tell if the MLF has "kicked off" ? bk

There is a paper chromatography test that you can perform. Personally, I just watch for tiny bubbles and taste the wine. If it is softening, then you have MLF.
