It's been said that if you fill a major league stadium with little league ballplayers and then pick just one - that would be the odds in getting onto the major league roster.


Let's see baseball, winery, vineyards, commercial applications, driving a mini-cat, excavating, building 2 buildings, planting grass and responding to the 'forum' and still finding time for family makes me tired. And I thought my plate used to be full!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh, the energy of youth!!!

Tell your boy congrats on being in the show. I have actually seen him pitch. I am forced towatch the Astros play quite often as Minute Maid Park is a real easy drive for me and my Mother in Law live in Houston as well and we visit often.


Just kidding, I am a huge baseball fan and watch everyone play.Tease him though and tell him he needs to get on the real team, the Cardinals. We have a rivalry here in my house. The wife is an Astros fan as she is from here on South Louisiana. I am a die hard Cardinals fan as I am from the St Louis area. Growing up it was a Cards Cubs rivalry. Since realignment I add the Astros in there to that rivalry.


Now, back to one of my MLB League Pass channels or The MLB Network.

good story Smurf....i have some news for you now...your primo pitcher Chris Carpenter went to the same high school as our kids...and in this case had the same high school baseball coach....in fact that coach just went to see both young men play a week or so ago in houston when they played each other.....and if memory serves me, houston swept st louis

Al, you are correct, the Astros handed it to them in a sweep. I was at the game on the 20th and saw your boy pitch. Of course the rivalry is all good natured. Maybe you can come see him play in Houston sometime soon and I can make it there and you can introduce us and I can pick his brain.


I do hope that the Astros can get back to where they were just a few short years ago. I love baseball and will watch any team play. If I lived a bit closer to Houston I would definitely be a season ticket holder. Minute Maid is one of my favorite ball parks and the town is a great baseball town. Lets just hope the Cardinals keep it together though and stay on top of the division!

Dang, I can't go over that weekend, I have to work. Have fun though. Houston is a great city. Go to Mama Ninfa's and enjoy some great Mexican food. If you are a beer drinker, make sure to trysome St Arnold's beer. They are a local brewery that brews some great beers. I love their Brown Ale. Gotta go, the Cardinals vs Astros game is coming on now!
