Yes, I have markings 1/2 and 1 gallon greater than the full carboy marks.
I always make non-kit batches larger than the finished volume I'm after - usually either 4 or 7 gallons; sometimes 3-1/2 or 6-1/2. Then I rack into 3 or 6 gallon carboys plus a 3L jug, or whatever size is appropriate on the side.
Next racking, the smaller container goes to the fresh carboy first, with the remainder from the source carboy going into whatever size it will fill.
