Anyone have thoughts on the Megliolis? From what I've read, they take a VERY long time. A few of the reds are tempting though.

I have had a few bottles sent to me (reds) from friends. Even after 2 years I don't think they are as good as a CC Showcase kit is at 18mo.

Reading this thread prompted me to order the North Coast Grand Red and the Italian Sangiovese/Cab kits. You folks continue to be a bad influence!:b

This is just my opinion and my own experience.
I bought an MM Megliolo Barolo two years ago. I used the grape pack and not the raisin pack. It could be just me, but the result is a pretty ordinary kit wine, even after spending time in a barrel. For the price of the kit, I had very high hopes, but to me it has turned out to be nothing special at all. It doesn't compare to the CC premium kits I've made.

I have been wondering for a couple of years if the Megliolo kits are worth the money. Instead I have been making Cellar Craft LR's and been quite happy. I hope Vineco does'nt mess up what has been in my opinion the best wine kit line (Cellar Craft Showcase). I have no experience with Kenridge but I also placed an order for the Sangiovese/Cab...keeping my fingers crossed. I like the 2.6 L super pack.

I might get the RJS Australian Style Grenache Syrah.

Those Meglioli are a touch too expensive without knowing for sure they would be worth it.

Just decided to pull the trigger on the California Grand Red from Vineco. I just don't have enough of a cellar to be letting a Meglioli sit for 2 years or longer - especially with the mixed reviews.
