Started the MM All juice Amarone MMS78, this kit didn't come with raisins.

Any thoughts on adding some or leave as is?

Thanks

Scott,
I think I'd be inclined to leave as is. This is a 23 liter kit, meaning that it probably already has the optimum amount of sugar included. If the s.g. is near 1.100, then adding raisins is going to increase the sugar content even more possiblyraising s.g. to the point of making the resulting wine too "hot" or otherwise throwing it out of balance. If you test the s.g. and it's 1.090 or lower than adding raisins (enough to get to 1.100) may be okay.

Fred the sg was 1.095, was thinking of them for added body. Will leave them out, wanted a second opinion.

Thanks

My MM Ren Amarone's raisins were a golden color. Maybe you could go to a nice health food store and buy some fresh, organic golden raisins and add them in.

I'd wash them first, as they might be coated with something (sulfites, sugar). Might think about what preservatives they could have in them, though. That's why I would try to get organic.

As I wrote about last week, I sure wish a person could buy just grape packs by themselves.

Maybe some of you who have your own vineyards and wineries might think about packaging grape skins and selling them, if the legal and logistical hassles are not a show-stopper.

I made this all juice kit 1 year ago and it did contain raisins. I can't remember the color of the raisin. I agree with your hope to add more body.

Not sure why they don't include them in the kits now? Must not need them? Man does the juice smell GOOD.

Thanks
