Hi everyone! I simply love this forum. Second time making wine here in Montreal and I am trying to find a store that sells cc amarone kits on sale. Does anyone know if Mout International? If so, do you know if they still have sales?

Thanks !

Hello fellow montrealer! I also got an amarone at Costco, Argentia coast. All juice with currants..Aging and at 3 months showes promise. The only place I have seen cc on sale is at a small place in ile perrot. I have never been to mouts international, where are they located?

Moût International 8191 Métropolitain E Anjou, QC H1J 1X6
(514) 354-6281

I'm curious how this amarone will be. Comments at Costco.ca were really good...

Oh I've heard about the one from costco. It's 99$ including delivery. Does it come with raisins or a grape pack?

I've never made/ tasted an amarone, neither have I ever been to Mout. But from searching the forum - heard about both.

Btw, I bought fresh grapes yesterday from Centre De Vinification Mondiale on cremazie - a lug each of CS and syrah. blending it and using EC 1118. It's my first time with grapes too!

Amarone from costco came with grape skins, I believe. I'm a newbie :)

Not sure if they changed the contents, but when I bought my Argentia Coast Amarone last winter the kit only came with currants (zanth). Had some funky odors develop during the secondary, but just racked it last week and had a taste... very nice. All the "off" odors were gone. Currants gave wine a hint of raisin flavour, but from what I understand that is somewhat expected from Amarone. Paklab put that kit on sale through Costco last winter for $80.. delivered! Bargain!

Let me know how it goes! I am trying out fresh juice for the first time this year, but have not tried grapes yet (although I did stop by today to pick up one lug from Bachus in Lasalle for kit tweaking!)

Cool. I live like 3 blocks from Bacchus on Dollard! I completely forgot about his shop! May I ask how much did he charge for a lug?

I had passed by the Raisin L.M (across from Maxi in LaSalle) booth and asked for prices. Their grapes were very nice - from Santa Clara. $31.50/lug. The only problem was that she didn't have a crusher. The place on cremazie did, so I when with him ($33/lug including crushing fee otherwise $31.50)

Costco Amarone at $80 is an awesome deal! I'd wait for a sale too.

cc amarone is super expensive when compared!

That is almost EXACTLY what I did! Went to the place in front of Maxi but they had no on-site crusher, so went to Bachus where they also were charging 31.50 a lug + 1.50 for the crushing.. Picked up some Merlot, first time there but they were very helpful, and efficient. In and out in 5 minutes!
