My youngest daughters name is Brittney. Here awhile back she started a part time job as a wine consultant, doing in home wine tastings for a California based company. She enjoys meeting new people and sharing a wine experience with them.

The other night my wife and I stopped by for a quick visit. We were met at the door, by Britt ( with a glass of wine in her hand ). After a few minutes of small talk, britt said.... Hey dad... I got this wine in the other day and would like to know what you think of it. You'll never see me turn down the chance to try a new wine !!! I took the glass and samlped it and said.... D#MN thats pretty good. She looked at me, smiled and said.... It should be it's one of yours.

I couldn't believe that my own daughter would pull something like that on me ( ok..ok...maybe i could ) It made me feel pretty good that with all the wine she has at arms reach it was a bottle of mine she was enjoying. She completely fooled the OLD MAN !!!!

That's grat Bob! It is great when your kids appreciate something you do.

That reminds me of this fall when I was at a market and couldn't attend, and two of the boys went to Willsboro to help with the annual harvest at the cold hardy variety trial. They wanted to get some grapes to experiment with for sparkling wine. They said they were really surprised by the chat among the pickers. They hadn't discussed their relationship with me. They said a lot of discussion went back and forth about the work I do there and what a great job I do with the vineyard. That made them proud of me. None of those folks ever tell me that to my face.

Great stories for sure.
Always nice to get a few kudos especially when they come from unexpected sources!

Well at least you said it was good and not something else!

Agree with Mike, once in a while a pat on the back goes a long ways.

Yeah that would not have been funny if you said your stuff was way better then that swill!!! LOL

Very good, Bob. Some say it is very difficult to objectively taste one's own wine. In Napa Valley even the great wine makers have at least a few outside consultants come in just to give an objective opinion.

Well, you just discovered a way to experience a true, objective tasting of your own wine... and you liked what you tasted. That's great!

Congrats on making a really good vine.
