Hey everybody!
I'm an amateur wine maker from Halifax NS, I've been making wine from kits for about 5 years now and i'm now trying making it from fruits (got a batch of orange wine brewing...we'll find out how it went in a year!!:D)

So that's it, I love making wine and I love drinking it ;)

Hey, BIGJEFF, welcome to a great site - glad to have more Bluenosers on here, maybe we'll catch up to those Pennsylvaniers!!
Good luck with your orange wine - like you, I've just made my first non-kit wine, blackberry, and it's a bit more challenging. What kinds of kits have you made?
You a native Haligonian?
.. Doug

I've made all kinds!
I've made Beer, wine coolers (tropical breeze), I made a lot of Selection & Cheacky Monkey kits (I like Merlots, Shiraz, Pinot Blanc sauvignon blanc etc...). Ialso make a lot of Argentina ridge from Costco...Good price and it's a good wine for later in the evening (when everybody is tipsy from the bestter stuff!;) )

As for "non-kits", the Orange is my first try, I'm also planning to make apple cider while the ingredients are readily available now!

I am originaly from north-east New-Brunswick (Caraquet region), I,ve been moving a lot due to my work (military)

What region are you from? I'm looking for a place to go apple picjing with the kids this week-end ;)

Sounds like you've been busy. It must be difficult to build up a cellar when you move like that.
I'm in Windsor Junction, in the Lr Sackville, Fall River area - I've moved around too, but just in Nova Scotia.
For apples, your best bet is the Annapolis Valley and you might get some drop apples, especially with the recent hurricane - these are much cheaper but still good. Also there are some farms who do apple juice/cider in buckets you can buy - Foote family farm is one of them - check their website. They're just past Kentville.

My friend was going to ask a local farmer down in the valley if he sold larger amounts of cider .He's an organic farmer so I like that idea .I'll let you know after she talks to him tomorrow . We want to pick some up on the way back from Digby in a couple of weeks . BigJeff there's a thread you can list what you have made or making you should post there . Here's the link http://www.winemakingtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5926 .
