My brother-in-law worked in a quarry. Somehow, he managed to flip an Euclid over.

Nephew ran a dozer for years on big construction projects in hilly TN. Then for the last 25, he has had his own paving company. Lots of steep work, all incident free. He always says, "Ya gotta drive with your butt!" Meaning that if you feel your butt start to shift, you'd better make adjustments quick! 😄

I have slid sideways off a slope dozing. It is exciting first couple of times. If there's no drop off below, it's not a problem. I'm talking older, smaller dozers. Not those big one that have weight up high. Fozen ground.... it's like ice skating!!

You will go broke charging an EV at a Tesla Super Charging Station. They may charge uber fast (depending on your make of EV) but they also charge the highest cost per KWH ($0.61) on the planet. The only way to save any $$$ is to install a Level 2 (220V) home charger and charge at home for whatever your local utility charges. Ours charges $0.14 per KWH. YMMV

Another issue is "fast charging". Any type of battery is degraded by repeated fast charging.

My current phone is a Google Pixel 8. If I have an alarm set in the morning, when I plug my phone in at night, it trickle charges all night to be fully charged just prior to the alarm ringing. This supposedly extends the battery life.

So they have learned quite a bit over the years about how to prolong the life of these massive EV batteries so that actually you can maximize their life to the fullest. This includes what they now call "preconditioning your battery" before a fast charge. Basically this warms up the battery so it can accept that uber high KWH charge and not hurt it. The other is to automatically switch from the uber fast charge down to a much slower rate of charge as it "fills up" the battery with juice. They still recommend only charging to 80% for maximum efficiency and battery longevity but you can override that but..... The charger will still slow down slower and slower as it reaches full charge making your charge time longer and longer if you are going past 80%. Just another reason for home charging unless you are on a road trip and have no other option other than stopping for an hour every 2-3 hours of drive time to visit a super charging station (if you can find one). Most are not as fast as the Tesla stations and most EV's can not take a fast charge like the Tesla's can although some of the current EV releases are coming pretty close these days.

I did test drive a new Honda Prologue last month as they were offering an insane lease deal. Honda partnered with GM to fast track an EV into their Portfolio. They turned out what appears to be a really nice looking SUV styled EV that will charge at a Tesla station (with an optional adapter you must purchase). The test drive was very fun I have to admit but in the end I walked away because of quality control issues. They are breaking down left and right with all kinds of issues the biggest is a faulty CV joint that goes out in as little as 1000 miles. And ....... there are no parts to fix them at the moment. Too new a vehicle. The interior is also cheaply made for a $50K car.
