It was 71 here today, so I thought I'd better spend the afternoon on the deck in shorts and a tee shirt. Temps are due to fall in two days, so we might not see 71 again for awhile. We finally did get a little fall color at the end.

I suppose most people would prefer that to BBQing in near 0°F temperatures near 4ft piles of snow. 20241125_174121.jpg20241125_174137.jpg

Today, my wife and I went deep sea fishing. A large boat and there were about 20 of us. Thankfully only one person has stomach issues. We caught 2 keeper red snapper and 2 keeper vermilion snapper, along with about 5 or 6 smaller vermilion snapper. It was a lot of fun, great temps, around 73 or so.

The first picture is the red snapper I caught, the one in the bucket my wife caught and finally the deckhand cleaning the fish, perhaps the best part.

My wife and I did a seafood boil for Thanksgiving. Since we are on the Gulf Coast. Here's a picture of the boil going on and the final result. Hard to see the shrimp, but they are there under everything else. This was very tasty and might be the meal at Christmas with my kids.

Two homes down the street our neighbor Joe puts on an annual "After Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Potluck" the sunday following the holiday. His house is a log cabin furnished with antiques and musical instruments (he's a pro musician). Everyone brings homemade things, we brought dinner rolls and wine, and had a blast visiting with 16 of our neighbors. Pic of just before everyone sat down.

You know it's going to be a great and intimate time when the chairs don't match :h
