I am looking for ideas on making 16 - 18 gallon batches of wine. I am mostly into grape wine / dry reds. I have tried the FWK Winery Series kits - however I am looking for other ideas. Has anyone tried a "Winery Series" kit from any other manufacturers? Or - does anyone know of a source for juice, skins, seeds (and have a recipe) that would work for this? Thanks in Advance!

@sluff I made the Winery Series Chardonnay from WinExpert. I split the 12 gallon batch in to three and flavored them with a. lemon zest, b. green apples and c. nectarine (I wanted to use peaches but they were unavailable at the time). I was pleased with the results. You are interested in "grape wine / dry reds" and WinExpert also offers a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chilean Diablo Rojo, available at Label Peelers.

Where are you located? There are a number of sources that have juice in buckets from Europe and USA.

@sluff Where are you located? Even a 1 day drive to get fresh wine grapes will be cheaper than buying wine kits. For example, I paid $1.20/pound for 300 pounds of Zin from Martinez which makes 20 gallons of finished wine. $320/100 bottles is $3.20 per bottle. A wine kit at $125 for 6 gallons is over $4.00 per bottle. Just sayin.

Thanks for your reply! I am located in NW Wisconsin. Unfortunately, no decent grapes are grown anywhere near here... And, I don't have the equipment or knowledge needed to deal with fresh wine grapes. It would be nice if I could find someone who sells juice concentrate - it doesn't have to be a "kit..."

I am located in NW Wisconsin. Do you know of a good source for juice in buckets - who will ship. I know it is very heavy! Thanks!
