Had a friend that would take a new pencil and break in half. Throw away the front half and sharpen the remaining part. He was always using a short pencil. This was a long time ago, so this must have been the forerunner of the pocket calculator?

I find that -20, calm and sunny feels warmer than 20 damp and windy.

OTOH, we have 2" on the ground, which is serious enough for Raleigh. Our "snow removal system" is the same one I also use for grapes -- Mother Nature.
