So I am looking to purchase my third kit soon (still have not bottled 1st or 2nd yet). I like the Cellar Craft brand but open to others as well. I am in the middle of the Cellar Craft late harvest Riesling at the moment and would like to try a merlot or cab next. The showcase collection intrigues me with real grape skins, but since I am still only three months into this hobby I don't know if I should stick with something more "basic" for now. Is there a real difference in the end product between the different kits? I always feel like I'd rather pay more money for a good product, but maybe the prestige kits are just as good?? A lot of the Showcase ones seem to be sold out until next harvest which sucks, but does appear that I can get the Showcase Walla Wall merlot still.

Have you tried George's site? He had the Cellar Craft Showcase collection on special this month. Even if he is out of the variety that you want, he normally will honor the sale price when it is back in stock. Go to the Toy Store site and click on "specials."

George from Fine Vine?? Actually just made the leap. He has 3 of the CC Showcase Red Mountain Cab left in stock and after SO many great reviews of this kit I just had to order. I really wanted to go with the Merlot next, but I guess I'll do the Cab, then a White Zin (I think I will use this slurry for my skeeter pee), then the Merlot.

Shockwave, you are tumbling head first down that slippery slope. Since you are already all-in I suggest you look at the Cellar Craft Limited for this year. They are pre-ordered in the (last) fall, most have not shipped yet and George (FVW) usually orders a few extra. I suggest you look at the Cellar Craft limited list and pick one while you still can. This time next year you will be really glad as you may have a fantastic wine that is no longer available. The limiteds are only available for one season.

Yeh, unfortunately when I get into something I tend to go gung ho right from the start. I wish I hadn't bought stupid better bottles since I knew I wanted glass from the start but the retailer talked me into plastic. Now that I'm getting the All In One pump I want glass. Will ded check out those limited kits though
