Is it possible to use the AIO pump to rack into one of these: https://morewinemaking.com/products/farro-glass-carboy-wide-mouth-airlock-lid-carrying-harness.html It is glass rather than plastic, so I'm guessing it might work. As long as the lid is strong enough to handle the vacuum...

What about the PET Fermonster wide-mouth carboy? Would that work as well, or would the plastic be too soft?
I have used low vacuum on PET wide mouth. PET are pulling in at -5” Hg. Therefore to make it work I will still have gravity and mainly use vacuum to start a siphon, then likely turn the vacuum off.
The wide mouth glass will handle some vacuum. Some have worked at -15” Hg but I don’t test to find a break point. My problem is the lid seems hard to snug down. For me the answer was acrylic tapped for a 1/8 or 1/4” pipe thread with a round sheet of neoprene. Silicon (baking sheet originally) also can be cut round as a gasket. For wine with controlled headspace I do not like standard lid. I use silicone bowl covers with a 1/8” bungee cord to wrap around the threads. This creates essentially a balloon that can puff out or suck in.

I am assuming you should be fine if you use the PET adapter- then you can just make a vacuum connection between lid and bung by holding it in place or making the hole larger ?
I do not sell a 5.5 but I do offer a #6.0 which would have to be customed made to be opened up to a 1/2'' hole to aid in transferring and lower the vacuum at the same time while racking.

I recall several other customers using the same set-up , But I have not personally.

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!

After 8 years of regular use, my AIO wine pump was showing its age… the last time I racked and bottled, the vacuum was markedly lower than normal. It took twice the time to rack and bottled

While Steve was awesome reaching out and providing tips on servicing the unit, my SO secretly got me a new system for Christmas. I’m seeing some nice upgrades just looking at it in the box, including a built-in vacuum pressure regulator at the unit and a bottle filler with vacuum release valve in a molded ergo plastic grip. Given my current livingsituation, it may be a little while till I put it through its paces and can give a thorough review. But, spring is coming soon enough.

Suffice it to say, Santa was good to me this year. Hope you’re all well and that 2025 brings you health, peace and joy.

Great Christmas present Jim.

Mine is about 7 years old. A year or 2 ago I thought my pump was going bad but Steve refused to sell me a new one. He said there was nothing wrong with mine except maybe the drilled bungs were getting old. He said all I needed was new drilled bungs. Skeptically, I ordered them and the pump worked like new. What kind of business person refuses to sell you something unless they are truly confident in their product. BTW, I asked for the new bottle filler last year on my birthday and it is a nice addition to have.

Yes we made some changes in the past several years - vacuum regulator, carrying handle, attachments holder and especially the premium wine bottle filler. Take a look at this video as it will help with the bottle filler =

I am glad you were on Santa's Good list !

Wow,
Great to hear about the longevity of this product as I just purchased mine before the fall and haven't used it for bottling yet. Not having to lift carboys is is a god send.
Thanks Steve

I like the part of refusing to let you purchase a new one - This is how I was brought up to be fair and honest and treat others how I would like to be treated.
The bottle filler is a great addition to our products !

This is one reason that I am having a 10% off for the month of January 2025 to help with our declining sales, especially since my full time job had to downsize and I was let go.
