This time last year after a little foraging I came across several uncommon fruits I've never found anywhere else; Bullace, quince, mirabelle plum and an unusual variety of crab apple which was incredibly sweet. I did the only thing sensible with them - I made wine, a bloody fantastic wine I simply had to do again.
Excited for it finally to be autumn again, I took a wander around to see how my favourite fruits are progressing when tragedy struck. My secret bullace tree, the star of last years wine making is dead. Not knowing where or even if there are any more about got me thinking, does anyone else have any 'secret' sources of fruit they guard jealously and pick only at night so's not to attract attention?

Living in Hawaii, I have access to some exotic fruits. The good part is making wine and jelly from these. I've got 7 gallons of lychee wine clearing and am about to start some lilikoi (passion fruit) wine as soon as my ph meter comes in the mail. The bad part is not many people on here have experience with exotic fruits. But thats ok, I'm learning how to check PH and acidity so all is well. :b

I have a great blackberry patch a tell everyone about because I can never even come close to picking it all. 100 people would still leave berries. I do have a evergreen blackberry patch I dont share because all those berries go for pie and I get enough to make 4 or 5 a year. I have a yellow plumb tree I pick out in woods and I dont seem to be sharing with anyone but bears(if they are there I leave even if I get there first) Found a new apple tree today but in Washington that is about as big a deal as blackberries. Just wish cherries grew good on this side of mountains
