Ok so I am planning to figure out which oak I like and how the oak really plays out in my wine. I have read the flavor profiles of the different oaks but I want to experience each one. I am planning on getting a medium/ higher end kit - I'm thinking a cab and barrel aging in my neutral barrel then dividing it into 6x 1 gallon containers to age with med toast am oak, heavy toast am oak, med toast Hungarian oak, heavy toast am oak, med toast french oak heavy toast french oak. I generally add tan cor grande riche which I can't seem to find any more to primary. does anyone have any suggestions on my great oak experiment? Have you done this before what have you found out? Any suggestions on kit to do this with? Thoughts and advice always appreciated.
