Hey folks,

I would like a recommendation for a very good book that covers all the basics from starting a small backyard vineyard to making your own wines. I have heard of "From Vines to Wine" by Jeff Cox. Would this be a good place to start? Anything better?

Thanks!

Looks great, thanks... but I checked it out and it doesn't appear to have any info on starting a vineyard...

Northern Winework by Tom Plocher (the breeder who developed Petite Pearl) and Bob Parke. This book has some good insight for growing cold climate grapes and making wine from them.

There is a very old book (1919) by U. P. Hedrick called Manual of American Grape-Growing. He was from Geneva, NY. The kindle version is free (Manual of American Grape-Growing). It has some useful information and the price is right.
