Do Vineyard managers in Latino-america speak english?

There is no particular reason to think that Vineyard personnel in Chile and Argentina have any degree of fluidity in English. Even if some do, the others won't understand any thing. Better to do your translating ahead of time.

Figuring out how to start growing grapes.

I see what and why you are doing. But.. somehow things look to wet and your setting yourself up for damping off disease. Somehow you need to apply a mildewcide.

    Inoculating vines during planting

I understand. That was my point, there is no downside, it won't hurt and might help. Not particularly expensive. I use serenade at this time of year as well.

    Replacement for cabernet sauvignon

Baco Noir, Cabernet Franc, Chancellor, Chelois, DeChaunac, Dornfelder, Dunkelfelder, Portugieser,Trollinger, Heroldrebe, and Domina are all possibilities to look at. Figuring out how to start growing grapes.

Here is a grape grafting technique I ran across today. Air layering is generally very easy to do, either using plastic bottles, or burying part of the vine. ....The vine, however, does not unite as readily as pear and apple would when grafted. To ensure success, grape vines must be grafted under...

    Anyone Growing Marquette Grapes?

Regarding the following quote associated with Shelburne Vineyard. As for Verona, it isn't my personal preference...susceptible to Phomopsis, large leaves, big berries, thin skinned that may be prone to cracking/splitting, late to ripen." I visited the Shelburne Vineyard website and noted that...

Training: Year 1, thinking ahead to year 2

Yes I mean prune the pencil-sized vines off at the point they become thinner than a pencil. But really you wont gain much. If you prune to 2 or 3 buds back to the ground you get explosive growth in year two, and they soon catch up. The otherwise refers to the possibility you wont develop pencil...
