I've been away a long time. Wondering what people think is the best kit out there.. Any response is greatly appreciated.

The Finer Wine Kits are popular. I was in the beta program for the Ultima line, making a Zinfandel. It came out great, although the price of the Ultima line is stiff.
Their Tavola line generally makes a decent red, and the Forte line is significantly better.

My brother-in-law really likes the WineXpert Old Vine Zinfandel. He has made it 3 times and says it is his favorite.

Both FWK and WE are good choices.
Note that FWK are not shelf stabile -- they ship cold and must be either refrigerated, frozen, and the kit must be started. This is due to how the concentrate is made.
