Don’t be afraid now . That mean old snow is almost gone. It can’t hurt you way down there in paradise .Is that…. Snow ? .
and I woke up this morning to see that the pond had re-froze enough overnight that ducks were sitting on the ice .

That would be snow. About 3 weeks ago we had a bad storm from the north with 20+ mph winds coming right down the bay. Came over the dike and started piling up. Very compact snow and snow blower wouldn't go through it. All other snow has melted. Is that…. Snow ? .
Yep. You can shove your ice as far as I’m concerned.Could be worse! Here is the results of an "ice shove" on the "little lake" (Lake Winnebago): 'I could drive a pickup truck through': Ice shove plows into home on west shore of Lake Winnebago

Must be gosh darn cold for a big lake to freeze with ice like that. 🏝BTW, the "little lake" I referred to is the 4th-largest natural freshwater lake in the lower 48, other than the Great Lakes.

In cold winters, Winnebago can get ice thickness of 3 feet. The reason is that Winnebago is extremely shallow. It is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide, with the deepest spot of only 22 feet. Green lake is about 35 miles away - it is 2 miles x 7 miles, with the deepest spot of 237' and an average depth of 100'. In the same year, they would have an ice depth of 5 inches.Must be gosh darn cold for a big lake to freeze with ice like that. 🏝
