Must be gosh darn cold for a big lake to freeze with ice like that. 🌴🦩🥥🌞🏝
In cold winters, Winnebago can get ice thickness of 3 feet. The reason is that Winnebago is extremely shallow. It is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide, with the deepest spot of only 22 feet. Green lake is about 35 miles away - it is 2 miles x 7 miles, with the deepest spot of 237' and an average depth of 100'. In the same year, they would have an ice depth of 5 inches.
