A few years ago I switched to the screw top bottles for time savings and ease of use. They are more expensive at about $2 a bottle, but it’s so nice not to have to cork bottles when doing dozens of bottles. Occasionly one will leak and it usually just needs a little more torque. As far as longevity here’s a bottle of blueberry from 2020 that looks as good as when I bottled it. No oxidation present. No cork rot etc. I put white paper under the bottles to find leaks easier. In the latest batch I had a couple leaks which I fixed by tightening the cap.
