I just joined this forum today and am so excited to find a place to share winemaking experiences!

I started making wine in April and have been in love with it since. My first batch was made from frozen Welsh's concentrate..white grape and peach. I just made a gallon batch using a recipe I found online. I used Chardonnay wine yeast and I just bottled it in August. It ended up turning out awesome, so I'm pumped to try my luck again. Friends of ours have Concord grapevines so we just picked about 12lbs a few weeks ago. They're in the freezer, but I'm ready to thaw them for my next attempt. Does anyone have a good concord recipe to share?

Looking forward to learning more from the experts! :D

Check out on the home page our recipe section. Browse the entire forum and you'll find quite a bit.

Welcome and be prepared for an adventure.

Hi Violetgurl

Welcome to winemakingtalk. Glad you found your way here. I see you are going to love wine making. I made a gallon of the welch's white grape/peach for my son's wedding. I think it was gone within the hour. It is a good wine.

Instead of looking for what you can make for dinner, you look for what can I ferment. Went shopping for sugar only today. A hundred dollars later I now have 30 pounds of pineapple, sugar, lemon juice and dinner stuff.

You definitly need self control. Fortunately I don't posess any!:)

Oh and I went from buying 2kg of sugar at the time to buying it 22kg at the time :)

Thanks everyone for the great welcome! :h

The violet wine sounds wonderful...I wonder what it would taste like? Now you have me intrigued. LOL

Welcome to the forum. I can attest to what Steve said. We used to buy sugar 5 lbs at a time, now it's 25 at a time and I always look to see what can be fermented. It's a great hobby. Welcome to the obsession.

Welcome Violet, glad you found our side of the Web! Here is a link to a basic Concord wine recipe. I have never made concord wine myself as I dont have a place to get concord grapes. The link below is also a great place to buy supplies online and is a very reputable dealer in which I buy almost all my stuff.
